Interior of the Winningstad Theatre, empty, with a red glow and bright lights

Rich in creative energy and focused on connection, the Dolores Winningstad Theatre opened in 1987 as part of Antoinette Hatfield Hall. Its innovative design breaks from convention, allowing the seating and stage to be reconfigured so that the entire room becomes part of the performance itself.

Today, the Winningstad hosts bold theatre, dance, chamber music and experimental productions in its 304-seat house — drawing audiences into close, unforgettable encounters with live art.

In 1984, Norman Winningstad surprised his wife, Dolores, on their 39th wedding anniversary by making a generous donation that named the Dolores Winningstad Theatre in her honor.
