HARRISON  La Koro Sutro (The Heart Sūtra)
MOZART  Mass in C minor, K.427

Mozart left his Mass in C minor only about a third complete, but what’s there of this “noble torso” is vast, inspiring, and filled with some of his most gorgeous vocal writing—including an aria for his new wife Constanze. To complement, Portland-born composer Lou Harrison’s take on the Buddhist Heart Sūtra (Lo Koro Sutro in Esperanto), a statement of hope for a unified world.
