BEETHOVEN  Triple Concerto for Violin, Cello, and Piano in C major, Op. 56
MENDELSSOHN  Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90, “Italian”

A tour of Italy inspired Mendelssohn to write his effervescent and vivacious “Italian” Symphony with its vaulting lyricism and brilliant orchestration, culminating in a sizzling tarantella. Beethoven’s Triple Concerto features Chamber Music Northwest Artistic Directors Gloria Chien and Soovin Kim with cellist Paul Watkins. Portlander Kenji Bunch’s 2022 fanfare she flies with her own wings, celebrating independence and individual strength, is inspired by Oregon’s state motto.
