STILL Symphony No. 4, “Autochthonous”
Still’s “Autochthonous” Symphony No. 4, a radiantly lyrical tribute to those who have triumphed over a difficult past, honors the American people’s optimism and dreams of hope. Copland’s Lincoln Portrait highlights the 16th president’s character and thoughts in music threaded with selections from his celebrated writings. A new work by Portland musician, writer, and storyteller Gabriel Kahane rounds out this program of modern Americana.
